Tsu, I thought I'd say something:
Last night, you came to me with something that appeared to be weighing heavily on you, and you asked me what I thought. I think my answer may not have seemed convincing, or it may not have seemed heart-felt, but it's my honest opinion that you made the right decision in this. I don't say that because I think you always make the right decision- nothing is farther than the truth than that, actually. I know and understand that you're only human, that you make the wrong decisions sometimes and get backed up against a wall.
But I'm here to tell you that you did the right thing. I know you may have felt like a jackass in doing it, and yes, there will always be repercussions of some decisions, but that doesn't mean it's the wrong one to make. You can't go through life making decisions merely to keep those around you happy- if you have to appease them, how much is their friendship worth, anyways? And you can't go through life making decisions that make YOU feel good about yourself. There will always be decisions that make you feel like a jerk, but you have to make them. You have to get through.
And although you may feel like a jerkwad for what you did, I'm actually quite...
proud, I think is the word I'm looking for. I occasionally tell you that I'm proud of you, but for this- what you did is extremely admirable, and if the friend who caused this predicament in the first place can't see how strong and brave of you it was to turn that down, then I don't know what to tell you. Once again, it's time to look at what your friendships are worth.
But I admire you for what you did. I admire you for being so human. I know it's weird for someone so hot-headed and out-spoken to say that a soft-hearted, soft-spoken young man like yourself is admirable, but it's so true. I admire your strength, Tsu, I really do; it takes so much of it to make a decision that, although it hurt your friend, kept them from poisoning your emotions. That took a lot of guts, kid.
You did the right thing.
